Maanschijn Brunch Club Methode Ancestrale 2019


‘Maanschijn’ is a collaboration between two young winemakers from the mother city who, together, seek to craft exciting, stimulating wines expressive of the stunning Cape vineyard.This is the first release forming the trio of the Maanschijn Brunch Club. The Brunch Club collection personifies our understanding of lighter, ethereal wines with character; with each release being composed of one or more heritage Cape varieties. 

This sparkling wine is composed of 100% Muscat d’Frontignan. The fruit was crushed, macerated overnight and pressed to a small tank for its primary fermentation. The must fermented over five weeks at a low temperature, after which it was bottled whilst still fermenting. Fermentation continued in bottle, with the sparkling wine spending five months sur lie. The wine was neither fined nor filtered, and was disgorged by hand. No sulphur was added.
