6 New dates announced for ex-St. John chef pop-up. 

Due to the success of the first two pop-ups held at Salt Cellar and an excess demand for bookings, Giles Edwards will return to Salt Cellar during December to host another six dinners. If the first two were anything to go by, you don’t want to miss out the chance to enjoy his 5-course feast at the urban winery and event space in Salt River.

The six new dates for his pop-up dinners are:

  • Thursday 10th December & Friday 11th December
  • Thursday 17th December & Friday 18th December
  • Monday 21st December & Tuesday 22nd December

As previously, the menu will be a feast of 5-courses at R350, inspired by Giles’ time at legendary St. John Restaurant in London, famous for their meat-oriented cuisine. There will be a wine list curated by Publik and Tim Martin Wines.

Dinner begins at 7pm each night. Space is limited to 30 people per evening. For reservations, please email bookings@saltcellar.co.za.

Giles Edwards headed to London 10 years ago to pursue his culinary journey where he rose through the ranks at J.Sheekey and 1 Lombard Street before settling at the renowned St. John. Under the guidance of iconic British chef Fergus Henderson, Giles formulated his love for, and perfected the art of, “nose-to-tail eating”.

With intentions of creating similar honest food that has seen St. John being awarded best restaurant in London and placed in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, Giles describes his menu (which will likely change through the pop-up dinners) as “a five course menu served on platters to share, so more of a feast as opposed to a tasting menu!”
