Biodynamic is a word that conjures up confusion and often cynicism in the wine world. Most of this is through misunderstanding the basic concept and people getting stuck on a few of the more odd practices (yes, there are some).
Simply put, biodynamic farming approaches the farm as an ecosystem, the goal being to work the land to create a natural balance between the soil, microorganisms, animals, indigenous plants – everything involved really. It’s to create healthier vines, and better grapes, in a sustainable way. And that’s it. Better grapes mean better wine, and that excites us.
